The global association has more than 3,000 branches spread across five continents and currently has six million members. Buddha’s Light Association International is a Buddhist organization composed of monks and laypeople. Its main purpose is to bring Buddhism into daily life and promote humanistic Buddhism.
Implementing life with humanistic nature: What we advocate is proactive humanistic Buddhism. Therefore, we must bring Buddhism from temples to society, bring Buddhism from monks to believers, and let Buddhism enter families and implement it in the human world. In order to spread the information of Buddhism more widely, we need to learn writing, computers, and publishing books and periodicals; in order to make the monastery solemn, we need to learn flower arrangement, decoration, and even architecture; in order to facilitate the promotion of Buddhism, we need to learn driving, speaking, and even various Preaching method; in order to let more people appreciate Buddhist art, we must learn to sing, chant, and even perform in various national theaters, because this is a world full of sounds, smiles, and variety! We must implement life with human nature and achieve the goal of “Buddhism in life and Buddhism in life”. Benefit all sentient beings with compassion: We can lead members to participate in Buddhist lectures, sutra research, social charity services, cultural education and other activities. We can provide more planning and participation opportunities for everyone from the leadership of monks to the activity of members. , so that everyone can cultivate blessings and wisdom and gain Dharma happiness from participating in the service. In addition, we provide members with various guidance and help in daily life; in terms of spiritual beliefs, we help members solve their problems and eliminate confusion; we use our compassion to care for the society, and we use our joy and generosity to benefit all living beings. We should go to hospitals, elderly care, child care, and even various technical training classes and seminars to build good relationships.
Distinguish between right and wrong with correct wisdom: In order to enhance the depth and breadth of Buddhist beliefs, in addition to participating in more Buddhist seminars, we should always get close to famous teachers and great virtues, and avoid superstitious behaviors such as feng shui, fortune telling, divination, and divination. To control us, we should not be controlled by mysterious evil beliefs. Sometimes, people often lack a correct understanding of things, coupled with the inability to distinguish between right and wrong, good and bad, they lose their right views and wander between good and evil. At this time, the guidance of good teachers is the clear direction for us to practice the path of Bodhi! In daily life, we must constantly cultivate right knowledge, right views, and right conduct, and use right awareness to distinguish between evil and right and deviation. In this way, in addition to getting opportunities for self-learning, we can also use what we learn to guide the public. Thereby completing the Bodhisattva path of benefiting oneself and benefiting others. As members of Buddha’s Light, let’s carry out our mission together by upholding our beliefs, and show the vitality of international Buddhism with joyful dedication and complete devotion!
